[BLOG]: Practising my photography! What do you think???

Just thought I'd share these with you because they're so pretty! I'm practising my photography at the moment so any constructive criticism is welcomed. They both look a little dark to me so I may have to invest in some lighting- how do you photograph your jewellery? What have you found works and what doesn't etc?

Now I am no great expert here ... anyone who looks at the photos on my blog will attest to that!

What I have found has helped me is using a dark background and then I invested in a light tent - just a small cheap one but it has really helped as now the light is more even across my projects. I have mine set up in the conservatory so there is plenty of light.

That said I love the second photo - it looks very luxurious and sparkly - just what I want when purchasing jewlery :D

Thanks Bex, I'm defo considering investing in a light tent- maybe next month when the funds are available! Unfortunately, I don't have the benefit of a conservatory so it's looking like daylight bulbs may be the only answer- others seem to do quite well with them so I just hope it works. Have you ever tried this? I love the second pic too- it was taken on my computer table which is glass and I love the reflection on it! Do you ever photograph on acylic to ge tthe reflection?

My light tent came from Amazon and cost me under £20 which I thought was a good deal - it comes with different coloured backgrounds.

I have not tried taking photos of my projects on acrylic to get reflections but that is an excedllent idea - should make for some interesting shots :D
