Now I know this forum is called Miniature World and maybe it's really just for Dolls Houses but I thought I'd share some pictures from my hobby and an exhibit I am very proud of.

My hobby is wargaming. It's a horrible name that doesn't really do the hobby any justice.

We are modellers who like to recreate the great battles of our time in various scales. A more peace loving bunch you won't find anywhere!

It's also a great Dads and Sons hobby.

Anyway, if you've never seen a wargame, here is a link to pictures of a famous 18th Century Battle that we recreated in 15mm. That means that all of the men you see painted are no more that 15mm high!

OMG! I never knew you did all that stuff Mike! It's not something I'm into personally but I can appreciate all the work that must go into something like that- WOW! Must have taken an age!

I think from start to finish it took about 2 years and there was roughly 8 people involved.

The fantastic terrain you see was made by Alan Sheward. He is a genius as this type of stuff. I frequently told him he should have a career making film sets.

Its an engaging hooby and whats been really interesting these last few years are the number of families attending the shows. It's moved from over weight, middle aged blokes to almost mainstream family entertainment. Of course the over weight middle aged bloke doesn;t apply to me :)

Wow!! You certainly have a lot of patience! Finishing something like that must be a weird feeling, such satisfaction but at a loss as to where to next! Great work though!

Where next was the Russian Civil War which we did the following year :)

Yes, you are right. When one of these projects ends it is a funny feeling. Especially as we cannot always store the terrain and eventually it gets sold or destroyed.

I have scrutinised each pic. They are some piece of work. Absolutely amazing. I cant begin to imagine the hours of crafting gone into all of that, but to destroy it seems sacrilegious. Wouldnt a school be interested as part of a history project?

What fabulous detail you have in your models. You must be very proud of them.
