We are looking for stallholders for our handmade market on Saturday 20th March. The event will be held at Firebug in Leicester. It's a great venue in the city centre, close to St. Martin's Square, the main shopping area and De Montfort University.

We are looking to get a wide variety of high quality stalls and all must only be selling products which are handmade by the stall holder. We are particularly looking for stalls selling unique items.

To ensure we get a good mix of stalls we will be vetting each application. The handmade market will be located in the upstairs function room and will run from 12 noon until 5-30pm with setting up from 10am. This is a small venue so there are limited spaces. Get your application in early to secure a place.

All of our events have free admission to the public to increase footfall.

Stalls cost £20 with a 6 ft table. This is a reduced price as we have secured a special rate from the venue for this date only.

how full are you for jewellery Tasha ?

We're limiting to 2 stalls as it's a really small venue. One's been taken.

Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event as we have just heard back from Leicester council regarding a rival market licence and they are asking for £160. As this venue can only hold about 10 stalls, it would not actually be possible to run this event without it actually costing us money to do so.

Oh how awful! So it's the council who want £160 for the licence? I didn't know you had to have a licence to host a craft fair. Do all councils require a licence then?

We have to pay LCC £300 per event, every month:(

Apparently within 6 point something miles of a market, although we've got two councils telling us different things now about another venue we're looking at. One says we don't have to for a craft fair, the other says we do

OMG Jane...what an absolute load of complete rubbish, I can't believe their still imposing laws set by a long ago king! Madness, just madness!
