Etsy??

Who has a shop on Etsy? There is some lovely stuff on there and it seems so much nicer than ebay. Those who use it, how are the sales on there? Few and far between or good?

How do they charge? Do they charge to list, take a percentage or what?

Good topic Karen, I've always wondered this myself! My personal opinion is that people are likely to make more profit from an online shop such as Etsy as opposed to Ebay where people are just looking for a cheap bargain. The effort it takes to make some of the stuff on there makes it worth the prices- some of it is beautiful and well worth every penny. you get what you pay for in this world huh!

Yep I'm with ya on that one. I'm going on an Etsy mission , I have my gameplan. Ebay is not worth a carrot for the seller of craft items, bargain basement and not avery good one at that. I have no idea of Folksy and MISI but Etsy I find quite credible because of the vast range, especially price wise. I'm hoping my approach to Etsy works but only time will tell.

The only problem with Etsy is that it's US based and hence why the likes of Folksy set up (I believe after Etsy or I could be wrong?). Sending things over to the states could be a worry with things getting broken in transit although in your case with jewellery this is less likely. Another thing that puts me off ordering stuff on there is the long wait for it to arrive and I guess it'd be the same for US customers ordering from sellers in the UK. That said, if I like something bad enough then I'll wait for however long it takes to arrive- it's usually worth it!
