Oh all right

The rings on the stems are cut by shaping the outside of the ring then undercutting the ring until it breaks free. Wrap sandpaper round the stem and you can sand the inside of the ring smooth and shape it if necessary. The big ring is made the same way then broken across the grain so it will show lwess and then glued back together through the other two rings. Simple when you know how :P

Thanks for all the compliments.

They're really beautiful Pete, the unity idea reminds me of something I bought in Africa a few years back when i was over there with the university. It's hard to describe- I'll try to get a pic up later or tomorrow but it's actually caled 'unity' and is carved from one single piece of wood and is 5 human like figures linked together with a bowl in the middle. It was the idea behind it that made me buy it and not necesarily it's beauty. My OH has this thing about collecting pebbles from all the places we go which mean anything to him and he keeps them all in there now!
