These were commissioned by a relative for someone who has been married for sometime. I usually make them as wedding goblets. They are 10" tall and 2" dia. at the top. I always put two rings on the stems to signify unity of the two but for this one deided to be a bit daft and added a third ring joining the two goblets .

Pete you always come up with unusual ideas, and express them well, I think those are a lovely and unique gift.
Q:"did you enjoy yourself?"
A:"I had to, there wasn't anyone else here to enjoy..."

Of course I did  The rings on the stems are made in situ, all part of the same piece of wood, no joins. The third ring, the big one is also made in situ but then magically attached to both goblets. (Trade secret. If I tolsd you UI'd have to kill you :!: :!:
Normally the goblets are just like these

but I decided to be daft for Christmas

That's very clever. Do they take a long time to make. They look like a labour of love.

1st one takes about 45 mins - 1hour. The second takes longer as I am having to measure and make sure it is as close to the other one as possible. I never get it exact but I'm pretty happy with these regarding their similarity.

I do enjoy making goblets I must admit as there are so many vatiations on styles and shapes. My favourites are the natural edged ones as you never know what shape they will turn out to be until you do it. They are decorative only though so tend not to sell well

I've never seen anything like that before but it's a great work of art, and if they had the couples initials on each one then that would be even better, you must have a great imagination.

My dad likes wood turning too - he's no where near this standard though, he might know.

They are lovely.
