Hello!

Postby JediWolfSister » 27 Oct 2010, 20:30

Not only am I new to this forum, I'm also new to the UK. I enjoy a fairly wide spectrum of art & craft pursuits. This forum looks like an excellent place to ask questions about where to find local supplies, and maybe a few friends.

State-side I used to use http://www.firemountaingems.com/ for a lot of my jewelry supplies, especially semi-precious gemstone beads that aren't just simulated plastic garbage claiming to be amber or moonstones. >.> I was hoping someone might point me in the right direction for a similar website that ships here.

Here are a couple of examples of the sort of thing I like to do (with beads anyway):

Hello there and welcome to the UK and to the forum!

I am mostly a card maker and scarpbooker so I dont know any great bead suppliers here - but I love the pictures you have shared :-D

I look forward to getting to know you

Well thanks much for that. My Aunt in Arizona and Grandma in Michigan both enjoy card making, and it sounds fun, so I might branch out into it some time. Now I know who to look up for advice! ;)

Hi there,

are they any sites like this in USA? I love to get in touch with American Artists and bring them over to the UK for international events. - Any help is appreciated.

Best wishes,

I'm sure there are, I just never bothered to look them up. I had a lot of family members into this sort of thing, so we didn't really need an internet community for it, as we had friends and family all over doing several different sorts of arts and crafts that we could bounce ideas off of or get together and work with.

Hi everyone and welcome to the forum! There are many many bead sites here in the UK...I'll try to list a few when I get the time. Are you looking more for for wholesalers or retailers?
