Forum Theme - V2

Postby HuggyBear » 26 Nov 2009, 23:13

OK Guys & Gals,

You will all have logged into the forum under a shiny new theme...

There are several "flavours" of the theme; hopefully, enough to fill everyone's tastes...

To view/change between themes head to your User Control Panel (UCP) - The link can be found at the top of the page

Click on the "Board Preferences" Menu and in front of you should be an option labelled: "My Board Style" with a drop down box of different values - change to the theme that best suits you and then hit Submit... and then click on Continue..; this will reload the forum under the selected style for you!

Enjoy!

OOh, you have been busy, well done.

I keep changing my mind on which colour I want - but then I am a woman!

I cannot find the "thanks" button, am I looking in the wrong place?

Liking the new skins, I have gone with the green one, seems by favourate colour at the moment, so good job.

_______________

Though my eyesight isn't getting much better as I am now really struggling to see the (pm) (www) and (quote) buttons as they are so small.

Also glad the logo is up, the forum was feeling naked without it, however "forums.co.uk" looks very blury and hard to see.

PS. Sorry I know it's probably just me with my failing eyesight :(

I've gone for the cyan too...I need to adjust the logo so it's clearer- it's because it's so small but we'll sort this out as we go along and hopefully sooner rather than later lol!

I'm finding it really hard on the eyes...and I've been trying to work out why...I think it's because ther is soooo much white (or pale) on the page...there's little 'contrast' for the eyes to adjust to...

I do haave my monitor settings quite bright - old age and severe myopia I'm afraid.

I didn't want to be negative and not offer a solution so I searched for style sheets...don't have much time to do a proper search...but it was whilst doing this that I realised why the forum style was making my eyes hurt so much...

Is it possible to do a slightly darker background with the forum in a 'floating box' - this is an example of what I mean http://www.phpbb.com/styles/

I know you can't cater to everyone, but since a couple of others had mentioned the 'glare' and faintness of the writing, I thought it might be worth bearing in mind?

I also agree that the logo should be bigger - I'd put it in the top middle so it can be seen...

HTH and sorry if I seem awkward - but I'm really struggling aand I'll have to report you to the dsiability discriminations people if you dont make allowances for the sight impaired.... :ugeek:

Your not sight impaired though... your just old.. hahaha

Logo stays on the left; adverts are going in the middle eventually... announcements to follow soon about that.

Leave the "biddy version" theme with me...
