My machines (I have 2 at the moment my carboot bought one broke so I have my mum's for now) are both really temperamental. I'm often found yelling at whichever I'm using for doing something other than what I wanted it to. lol

I am a total novice with machines, my nan bought me this one, she used to work on a machine (and still has some of the most amazing shoe thread - fabulous stuff!) but sadly since we lost her i havent got a clue!!

I had one instance of 'ghosting' one day - i was upstairs, machine was on and downstairs and i heard it going, i yelled at the dog (who had run into the kitchen, unbeknown to me) and run down the stairs and there the machine sat happily sewing away like a crazed fool!! There was a short circuit in the pedal, it terrified me! lol!

My boss (wife) has a husqvarna that I got her 20 years ago 2nd hand and swears by it. She has boxes full of fabric, shelves full, drawers full and at the moment a spare room floor full. I don't mind because as long as she has bits all over the place she doesn't complain about my shavings getting in the house. My shavings at least come up with the vacuum cleaner, hwer fabric catches and messes it up. When we were first married, jeans for kids were unheard of (mid 70's) apart from in boutiques and she used to strip down my old jeans and make my son jeans using patterns made of nespaper . Used to cheat and have L*** pockets on the back as well.

I moved 2 years ago & had to get rid of 10 BIG boxes of fabric! I have now got another 6!! Much to the annoyance of My OH as it's in the garage! Have recently started felting & embellishing so now every type of fabric/yarn is a possible project! too many ideas & not enough time - thats my problem!!!
