Hi

Candles going good, I have got the hang of pillar candles and layered candles, After playing for a couple of weeks found I would be better with other wicks and now i'm on my way. will be selling them next weekend at a fair and I will see how they go.

Its trial and error with the scent have manged vanilla so far!

Hubby hates the smell he never likes going in candle shops and now he gets it in concentrated form lol

He cant complain the candles were his idea so he can play his game :smile2: :smile2:

LOL, you sound like me Karen- it's a good thing us women can multi task isn't it lol! Keep us posted though, it'd be great to know how you get on with it. Maybe you could do a blog about it when you've mastered it- as I said the other day, there's no exact recipes on the internet about it that I can find so I'm sure there's thousands out there who would flock to a blog which gave them exact ratios!

hellooo Nickie
I had a little go, still needs more practice I used an ounce which the books quote to a pound that one didnt smell so I used an extra 7.5ml and that made the house stink lol
My other half had the fan on doors open! he said it stinks in here I was like no it doesnt! by that point I had lost my sense of smell.

The candle smells lovely but when burning the scent thow isnt there so I'm going to do another batch and keep adding a drop at a time.

Maybe my sense of smell is wrong, so I am going to give my freind some testers. She is chuffed as she will get free candles

I'm also going to try essential oil see if that makes a difference.

I did buy a scented candle from a shop the other day to see the difference, I was shocked when I unwrapped it it was so strong the candle was seeping with grease! I had to through it away.

I'm doing a fair next weekend I shall see how the ones I have done so far sell if the weather stays hot it should be a good one .

 I have to work today on my weekened off wish I was playing in the kitchen

Awwwwww, keep going Karen, you'll get there in the end! I too had the problem of too much too little scent and it's defo true what you say about losing your sense of smell. I was making bath bombs last week and my son came in from a run in the fresh air and told me it stunk 'like a *'s handbag' in the kitchen lol! I couldn't smell it at all but after I'd been out later on that evening, I walked through the door and the smell of perfume nearly knocked me out lol! It's defo a good idea to test them on your friends and relatives as their not surrounded by lots of perfume and can start in the fresh air so to speak! Good luck with the fair- keep us updated on how you get on, I'd love to know!
